Individual Therapy
Our emotions, behaviours and protective patterns aren't there by accident, and they can't always be changed simply by thinking about things differently.
Starting with what is troubling you

My first question will always be: “How will you know you don't need therapy anymore? How will you have changed?”
Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, recurring thoughts or reactions you don't understand. Perhaps you're grieving, feeling stuck, struggling to find meaning, or carrying experiences from the past that continue to affect you.
When something has deep roots, we first need to get curious and understand where your patterns come from. From there, we can begin to make room for something different to grow.

The journey
Our difficulties often make sense in the context of our personal, family and cultural history, as well as the environment we grew up in. It can be difficult to see these connections on your own. Having someone alongside you can help bring certain things into focus and make connections that you may not have been able to see before. Developing greater compassion for yourself is also an important part of the process. This can gradually make it possible to access deeper, more vulnerable emotions.
Through different exercises, we can then begin to take care of these emotions and explore new ways to be. For example, we might start by getting to know your inner critic: when it appears, what it says to you, and, most importantly, what it is trying to do for you. Rather than trying to silence it, we can first get to know it and understand what it is trying to protect.
This can then allow us to approach a more vulnerable part of you, and begin to offer it some care and compassion. For example, through a guided visualisation, I might help you connect with and care for a younger version of yourself, perhaps the part of you that first learned to cope in these ways.
The goal isn't to become a different person. It's to understand yourself deeply enough that you have more choice in how you respond, relate and live.
